A major search operation has been underway after Michael Mosley vanished on the Greek island of Symi.

Rescuers searching for missing TV host Michael Mosley are reported to be looking in a complex cave system known as ‘the Abyss’ – as work to find the television doctor continues.
The 67-year-old vanished after going for a walk on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday, with a large-scale operation taking place to locate him.
Despite the deployment of helicopters and specialist rescue dogs, the father-of-four – known for his appearances on programmes including This Morning – has not yet been found. Police are reportedly investigating several theories surrounding his disappearance.
Now the Mail on Sunday reports there are concerns Mosley may have entered a dangerous cave network known as the Abyss near the Aegean island’s Agia Marina beach.
To access the cave network, which is understood to be treacherous, he would have had to swim from the beach.

The tunnels are understood to stretch for many miles underground, with the Telegraph reporting some parts of it are underwater.
Greek authorities have released CCTV footage from a house at the edge of a small marina in the village of Pedi that seems to show the presenter walking towards a mountainous path at about 2pm local time on Wednesday.
Mosley’s four children have joined his wife, Dr Clare Bailey Mosley, on the island to help with the search operation.

In a statement on Saturday, she said: “It has been three days since Michael left the beach to go for a walk. The longest and most unbearable days for myself and my children.
“The search is ongoing and our family are so incredibly grateful to the people of Symi, the Greek authorities and the British Consulate who are working tirelessly to help find Michael.
“We will not lose hope.”
