Detectives are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information or footage, to come forward following a shooting in Dagenham.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who has information that could assist our investigation.
“We believe that a black coloured Ford Fiesta was involved and are keen to hear from anyone who has information or footage concerning that vehicle.
“We are working hard to take illegal guns off the streets, but we can’t achieve that alone. If you have information about this incident, or anyone who has an illegal gun, please do get in touch and help us make your area safer.”
At 13:06hrs on Wednesday, 5 June officers were called to reports of a person shot in Porters Avenue, Dagenham.
Officers and London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
At the scene they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to hospital where his injuries were not life threatening or life changing.
Initial enquiries established that the shooting took place at Wren Road, Dagenham with the victim making his way to Porters Avenue, where
